The petrol pressure washers are loud as all hell. A neighbour has one and its a right old pain in the arse to the whole neighbourhood when he uses it. I use my electric for a whole day at a time sometimes to do the paving and such, and really cant imagine using a petrol unit for that amount of time. Plus unless you get a longer hose, your pretty close to the engine going hell for leather while your using and i cant imagine your hearing being great after some time using it. For around the house, i dont think you can go past a good electric unit, but i paid $500 for my old unit, and $900 for my current so they are in different price segments for the power you get. Just keep in mind general petrol engine maintenance too with carby blockages and storing it properly (no fuel in carb or tank) or it just wont run next time

For what it is worth - all pressure washers tend to mislead folks by quoting their MAXIMUM flow and pressure ratings to impress buyers - these are apparently just the theoretical specs that they could produce on paper i.e all other variables are not considered when calculating them. What is far more meaningful and what IMHO should be the ONLY specs they can state is the RATED flow and pressure levels. As these are what the machine actually has proven able to do in usage. Once you establish both of those you multiply them together and the result will give you a score/number which is indicative of it's cleaning power/ability. For reference, I already had a cheap and cheerful Ozito '2000w 2320PSI" washer (which used to be an OzB fave) - it's rated pressure was 1595 PSI and flow of 5.6L/min. Giving a cleaning score of 8932. Ok for the price. But this petrol one has a rated pressure of 2800 PSI and a rated flow of 9.1L/min - so a cleaning score of 25480 - nearly 3 times superior. So yes, I got one of these on this deal. Thank you OP. Just make sure you run a filter on the water inlet and run water through the pump to release the air before turning on the engine - and as with all small petrol engines, make sure you're not letting the fuel go stale and gum up the carb (so a fuel tap is a good idea if there isn't one already installed on it.

I bought a used Aldi petrol washer for $50 similar to this one, indeed it is loud but I use safety ear muffs. I had an electric one to clean pavers but it was underpowered and would take a day to clean the front driveway. I used a patio cleaner that came with the used unit and I can clean the driveway in an hour with decent to great results, so even though noisy it is well worth it.

I've got a 98cc 1800psi Toolpro petrol unit from Supercheap that lasted me 5 years or so until refusing to start one day. Served me really well but you'd be crazy not to wear earmuffs for more than a minute or two… and probably keep total job to under 45mins to keep the neighbours from hating you too much. For the specs and the price, this one looks like a beast and it is tempting.
