  Similar product to the one posted I think, but I have this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010412924919.html from AliExpress which replaced Carlinkit. In my experience it has a number of advantages over Carlinkit. Much smaller. Quicker connection. Worked out of the box without having to install a scary app and update firmware. Has a button to quickly switch phones. The last one is a major advantage because to switch phones with the Carlinkit I had to disable bluetooth on the active phone and unplug the unit, which was annoying. Having had a button now, I would not go back to one without.

  I have a basic one without a swap button, and many times have wished it did. Might be time to upgrade.

  Some Renault's have AA only and not Carplay. One of the Carlinkit products allow Apple Carplay to display onto the stock headunit. I didn't believe it at first, but plenty of Renault owners of my specific model use this and I've watched a clip of it in action. No modifications required. My wife and I are Android users so haven't rushed to get a Carlinkit, but our team use the car so considering this as a way of providing cheap Carplay without changing out the stock HU
