All OnePlus 15 models are currently not blocked by telcos, but I would be cautious in general. My take is to stick with Telstra if it's not currently blocked by them, since being blacklisted by Vodafone means it will be blocked on all carriers, making that particular SIM slot useless (blocked IMEI). https://isthisphoneblocked.net.au/device-brands/oneplus?devi…

If i walk into jbhifi with $1k, would i be able to get anything even remotely close to this?

I have the Chinese version. Can confirm Android Auto, NFC are working. Notifications are instant. Widevine is L3 last I checked, but I don't use it for that and the videos I did watch to check looked fine. No carrier or reception issues on Boost/Telstra. If you are on another network, you may get banned so I wouldn't recommend ANY grey import unless you know for sure that specific model is working. It's a great phone. Battery is epic. Screen is both bright and can be dimmed right down. Android is fast. Cameras are still very good.

Name a phone that is locally manufactured. These days, I’d think 95% of phones — if not more — are imported anyway. The only real difference is whether they’re imported under the big telcos’ official distribution channels or via grey importers, per se.

Never know, my friend's phone works on Vodafone, but no luck with optus. I just don't like it is being a lucky draw.
