First post to … Hopefully well received. Picked up a couple of pairs so I'm not looking too bogan with just trackies :P Also +180 Myer One points if that floats your boat!

501s are cool but when I'm stuck at the urinal trying to do up a few buttons I can't help but think what other bathroom users think I'm up to. FFS

I bought my first pair of 501's in 1970, and have been wearing Levi's ever since. I bought my newest pair of Levi's just a month ago. I do have to confess to switching to 511's though, mainly for the zipper fly. When you get to a certain age, quick access in the loo is desirable. I have about ten pairs of Levi's in my wardrobe, all with a large hole in the left knee. Some of them no longer fit around the waist. I keep on telling my wife that they have shrunk in the wardrobe. I also keep on promising myself to get some of the more recent ones fixed with a denim patch from the older ones by a sewing and alterations shop. Back in the 70's the 501's were "Shrink to Fit". They were manufactured oversize, and you had to wear them in the bath or shower for twenty minutes or so. The idea was that the denim would shrink and mold itself to the contours of your body. One of the side effects was finishing up with pale blue legs for some time. This link resurfaced a lot of old memories: https://tinyurl.com/mtua3kam

They are pretty much permanently this price at just jeans… https://justjeans.jgl.com.au/shop/search/501 I'd recommend waiting a month and buying them on an actual sale, at just jeans
